The Fraser Building
Decatur, Georgia

The Fraser Building, a two-room tenement structure ca. 1880, was located on the site of the present day Clairemont Condominium. The tenement building was part of a larger complex of buildings including the main house that belonged to Donald Fraser. The reverend Donald Fraser owned most of the land that is now the Great Lakes neighborhood. Just south of the homestead was the Donald Fraser School for Boys. He is buried in Decatur Cemetery.

Stacie Monroe and Kathy Masters of the Decatur Preservation Alliance worked with the property owner, the developer, the City of Decatur and Friends of Decatur Cemetery to save the Fraser building and move it to its new site at the entrance to historic Decatur Cemetery.
